Student Assistant

“What should I do after landing at Frankfurt?”

Start with a SIM card, transport, and rest. Registration comes next.

Why this exists

I’ve received calls from students still at home, confused and stressed. I’ve gone to Frankfurt Airport multiple times to help students personally.

This site exists to make sure no student feels lost during their first days in Germany.

I can guide you with

Airport Arrival – What to do first

After landing in Germany, don’t panic. First check your internet access, carry some cash, and choose the cheapest transport to your city.

  • Check if you received a temporary SIM from VFS
  • Use free Wi-Fi at airport & stations
  • Avoid taxis (very expensive)
  • FlixBus / FlixTrain are cheapest if booked early

Anmeldung (City Registration) – Explained Simply

Anmeldung means registering your address at the city office (Bürgeramt). It is mandatory for everyone living in Germany.

Why it is required
  • Opening a bank account
  • Getting your Tax ID
  • Health insurance
  • Residence permit
Documents needed
  • Passport / ID
  • Wohnungsgeberbestätigung (from landlord)
How it works
  1. Book appointment (or walk-in, depends on city)
  2. Visit Bürgeramt
  3. Receive registration certificate

⚠️ Rules differ by city. I’ll guide you personally on WhatsApp.

Bank Account

Opening a bank account usually takes 3–5 working days. I help you choose the correct bank and avoid mistakes.

SIM Card & Internet

Internet is essential in the first days. I guide you to cheap and reliable SIM options.

Health Insurance

Health insurance is mandatory. The correct option depends on degree, age, and status.

Accommodation Guidance

I cannot find rooms, but I guide you on where to search, how to avoid scams, and what landlords expect.

Residence Permit

Appointment rules differ by city. I help you prepare documents and book on time.

After Landing in Germany – Student Checklist

This is a quick overview of the most important things every new student should know after arriving in Germany. For personal guidance, use the student assistant.

📱 SIM card & Internet

Check if you received a temporary SIM from VFS Global. If not, free Wi-Fi is available at airports and stations. The assistant can guide you on cheap SIM options.

💶 Cash & payments

Cash is still important in Germany. Always carry some euros, especially on your first day.

🚆 Cheapest travel from airport

Avoid taxis. FlixBus, FlixTrain, and regional trains are the cheapest options. Ticket prices depend on distance and booking time.

🎫 Deutschland Ticket

The Deutschland Ticket is valid for one month on regional transport. It can save you a lot of money if used correctly.

Every student’s situation is different. The assistant can guide you step by step based on your city.

Ask for help

This is free. Just explain your situation.
